In a tightly contested matchup, the Detroit Lions topped the Atlanta Falcons 28-21 in Week 13 of the 2026 season, solidifying their playoff aspirations. Both teams fought hard, but the Lions' decisive plays in critical moments made the difference on the scoreboard. Jared Goff led the Lions with a strong performance, passing for 259 yards and contributing to the scoring effort. Sam LaPorta was a key target in the passing game, racking up 83 receiving yards, while the Falcons' Michael Penix Jr. threw for two touchdowns despite the loss. On the ground, Bijan Robinson of the Falcons made an impact with 84 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Lions' offensive efficiency. Defensively, the Lions were relentless, highlighted by Jack Campbell's standout performance with three interceptions that shifted momentum in their favor. Aidan Hutchinson added pressure with a sack, while Matt Milano anchored the defense with five total tackles. The turning point came in the second half when Campbell's third interception set up a crucial touchdown that allowed the Lions to maintain their lead and hold off the Falcons' late-game rally.
