The New England Patriots topped the Miami Dolphins 45-35 in a high-octane Week 8 showdown, solidifying their position in the playoff race. With both teams vying for crucial conference positioning, this matchup proved pivotal as the Patriots maintained their momentum in the 2026 season. Drake Maye was the standout performer for New England, throwing for 277 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his poise under pressure. Meanwhile, Quinshon Judkins dominated the ground game with an impressive 232 rushing yards, consistently breaking tackles and finding seams in the Dolphins' defense. The Patriots' offensive firepower was complemented by timely plays from their receiving corps, but it was Maye and Judkins who ultimately drove the team to victory. Defensively, the Patriots were bolstered by Zemaiah Vaughn's interception, which came at a critical juncture, halting a Miami drive that could have shifted momentum. The Dolphins fought hard, with Justin Joly racking up 190 receiving yards, but they couldn't overcome the Patriots' balanced attack. Miami's efforts were highlighted by Kyle Louis’s six tackles and Kenneth Grant’s sack, yet they fell short as New England's defense made key stops when it mattered most.
