In a commanding performance, the Los Angeles Rams topped the Los Angeles Chargers 45-23 in Week 8 of the 2026 season. This victory solidifies the Rams' position as a playoff contender while the Chargers look to regroup following a tough divisional matchup. Matthew Stafford was the star of the day, throwing for four touchdowns and leading the Rams’ explosive offense. Brenen Thompson showcased his skills for the Chargers with 135 receiving yards, but the Rams’ air attack proved too much to handle. Despite a solid performance from Justin Herbert, who threw for 286 yards, the Chargers struggled to keep pace. Defensively, the Rams made their mark with Brian Branch snatching two interceptions, showcasing their ability to disrupt the Chargers' rhythm. Trenton Simpson's eight tackles were crucial in stifling any potential comeback. The game's turning point came in the second quarter when Branch's first interception set up a quick touchdown, giving the Rams a lead they would not relinquish.
