The Cleveland Browns narrowly defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 20-13 in a tightly contested matchup in Week 2 of the 2026 season. With both teams looking to establish momentum early in the season, the Browns managed to secure a crucial road victory that could prove pivotal as they push for playoff positioning. Taylen Green led the Browns' offense with two touchdown passes, showcasing his poise in the pocket and ability to find the end zone. Meanwhile, Baker Mayfield, playing against his former team, threw for 288 yards but couldn't find the rhythm needed to convert drives into touchdowns. On the ground, Bucky Irving contributed solidly for Tampa Bay with 71 rushing yards, while Cade Otton stood out with 86 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome Cleveland's well-rounded attack. Defensively, the Browns were anchored by Carson Schwesinger, who made an impressive 12 tackles, ensuring Tampa Bay’s offensive threats were contained throughout the game. Jared Verse added a key sack, putting pressure on Mayfield during critical moments, which shifted the game's momentum. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Cleveland's defense stifled a Buccaneers drive, allowing the Browns to maintain their lead and secure the win.
