In a thrilling season opener, the Boise Boise Outlaws narrowly defeated the College Station Texas AM, securing a 30-24 victory. Both teams entered Week 1 with high expectations, but it was the Outlaws who emerged victorious in a hard-fought battle that showcased their offensive prowess. Leading the charge for Boise, quarterback Josh Allen threw for an impressive 310 yards and a touchdown, connecting frequently with standout receiver Jeff Caldwell, who racked up 113 receiving yards. Despite being held to just one touchdown, Allen's ability to move the chains proved crucial, while College Station's David Montgomery led the ground game with 68 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with Boise's dynamic offense. The defensive efforts played a pivotal role in this matchup, with Cole Bishop of the Outlaws snagging a crucial interception that shifted momentum in favor of Boise. Danielle Hunter's standout performance for College Station, with 1.5 sacks, kept the pressure on Allen, but it was the timely play by Boise's defense that ultimately sealed the win. The game's turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Bishop's interception thwarted a potential game-tying drive, allowing Boise to run out the clock and secure the victory.
