In a dominating performance, the Denver Broncos trounced the Los Angeles Chargers 38-7 in Week 1 of the 2027 season. With both teams looking to set the tone for the year, the Broncos made a definitive statement, showcasing their prowess on both sides of the ball. Offensively, Bo Nix led the Broncos with two touchdown passes, while Jonah Coleman was the star of the ground game, racking up an impressive 229 rushing yards. The Chargers' Justin Herbert threw for 237 yards but struggled to find the end zone, with Oronde Gadsden being the only bright spot in the receiving corps, accumulating 91 yards through the air. Zach Allen added to the pressure with a sack, while Ja'Quan McMillian's five tackles helped keep the Chargers' offense in check throughout the game. The turning point came early in the second half when Hufanga's interception set up a touchdown, extending the Broncos' lead and leaving the Chargers scrambling for answers.
