In a commanding performance, the San Francisco 49ers topped the Arizona Cardinals 34-17 in Week 3 of the 2027 season. With this victory, the 49ers solidified their position as one of the top contenders in the league, showcasing their offensive prowess against a division rival. Brock Purdy was the star of the show, throwing for 381 yards and two touchdowns, leading the 49ers' aerial attack with precision and poise. Christian McCaffrey complemented the passing game with a powerful ground performance, racking up 122 rushing yards, while Mike Evans emerged as a dominant force in the receiving game, amassing 229 yards. The combination of these offensive standouts was too much for the Cardinals to handle. Defensively, the Cardinals struggled to contain the explosive 49ers offense, despite Garrett Williams’ seven tackles and Mack Wilson Sr.'s two sacks providing some resistance. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Purdy connected deep with Evans for a touchdown, pushing the lead to an insurmountable margin. Arizona's defense failed to create turnovers, and with Budda Baker’s lone interception, the Cardinals could not capitalize on their opportunities, ultimately falling short in their bid for victory.
