In a tightly contested matchup, the Cleveland Browns topped the Minnesota Vikings 23-14 in Week 8 of the 2027 season, solidifying their position in the playoff race. The victory was crucial for the Browns as they look to maintain momentum heading into the second half of the season. Cleveland’s offense was led by quarterback Fernando Mendoza, who threw for 220 yards, showcasing his ability to command the game. The Browns relied on a balanced attack, with Kyren Williams contributing 45 rushing yards, while the Vikings’ J.J. McCarthy found the end zone twice through the air, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. Minnesota's star receiver, Justin Jefferson, added 93 receiving yards, yet the Browns’ defense proved to be a significant factor. On the defensive side, Emmanuel Mcniel-Warren was a standout for Cleveland, recording two interceptions that shifted the momentum in favor of the Browns. The game’s turning point came late in the third quarter when Mcniel-Warren picked off McCarthy, setting up a crucial touchdown drive that put Cleveland ahead for good. Despite Jalen Redmond’s two sacks for Minnesota, the Browns' defense held firm, ultimately sealing the victory.
