In a commanding performance, the Houston Texans topped the Indianapolis Colts 31-7 in Week 9 of the 2027 season. With playoff aspirations on the line, the Texans delivered a decisive victory that bolstered their standing in the conference. C.J. Stroud was the standout performer for Houston, throwing for 367 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to connect with his receivers downfield. Darnell Washington emerged as his top target, racking up an impressive 179 receiving yards, providing Stroud with a reliable option throughout the game. Despite a quiet day on the ground, Anthony Richardson Sr led the Colts with 44 rushing yards, but it wasn’t enough to spark a comeback. Defensively, the Texans were relentless, with Mike Green recording two sacks and Derek Stingley Jr. snagging two interceptions, which disrupted the Colts' offensive rhythm. The turning point came in the second quarter when Stingley’s first interception set up a quick score, swinging momentum firmly in Houston's favor. The Texans' ability to pressure the quarterback and capitalize on turnovers was critical to their dominant win.
