In a thrilling Week 16 matchup, the Washington Commanders topped the Dallas Cowboys 24-18, solidifying their playoff aspirations as the season winds down. Both teams entered the contest with high stakes, but it was Washington that found a way to secure the victory at home, keeping their postseason hopes alive. Jayden Daniels showcased his passing prowess, throwing for 2 touchdowns and leading the Commanders' offense effectively. Dak Prescott put up solid numbers for the Cowboys with 187 passing yards, but it was CeeDee Lamb who shone as a reliable target, racking up 66 receiving yards. Despite the Cowboys' offensive efforts, they couldn't capitalize when it mattered most. Defensively, the game turned on a crucial interception by Nick Cross of the Commanders, which shifted momentum and thwarted a potential scoring drive from Dallas. Jaishawn Barham also made his presence felt for the Cowboys, recording 1.5 sacks, but ultimately, it was Washington's ability to create turnovers and apply pressure that sealed the win. The Commanders' defensive stand late in the game proved to be the difference, as they held off a late charge from Dallas to claim the victory.
