In a thrilling Week 4 matchup of the 2026 season, the Carolina Panthers narrowly defeated the Detroit Lions with a final score of 27-21. The victory was crucial for the Panthers, as they aimed to solidify their position in the competitive NFC South. Both teams fought hard, but it was Carolina that came out on top. Bryce Young showcased his skills under center for the Panthers, throwing for 227 yards and two touchdowns. His impressive performance was complemented by Jalen Coker, who led the receiving corps with 80 yards. On the other side, Jahmyr Gibbs dominated on the ground for Detroit, racking up a staggering 184 rushing yards, but it ultimately wasn't enough to secure a win. Defensively, the Panthers made key plays that shifted momentum in their favor. Nic Scourton's sack and consistent pressure on the Lions' offense contributed to their struggles. The game's turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Christian Izien intercepted a pass, thwarting a potential game-tying drive from Detroit and allowing Carolina to hold on for the victory.
