In a commanding performance, the Las Vegas Raiders defeated the Los Angeles Rams 49-9 in Week 7 of the 2026 season. The victory was crucial for the Raiders as they solidified their position in the playoff race, showcasing their dominance on both sides of the ball. Fernando Mendoza led the Raiders’ offensive onslaught, throwing for 165 yards and three touchdowns, effectively orchestrating the game plan. Ashton Jeanty added a stellar rushing performance, gaining 109 yards on the ground, while the receiving corps was bolstered by solid contributions, but it was Mendoza's ability to find the end zone that truly propelled the Raiders. Defensively, the Raiders were relentless, with Patrick Surtain II making a significant impact by recording seven total tackles and two interceptions, showcasing his ability to disrupt the Rams' passing game. Montez Sweat also shined, notching two sacks that pressured the Rams’ quarterback and shifted momentum decisively in favor of Las Vegas. The turning point came early in the second quarter when Surtain's interception set up a touchdown, igniting a scoring spree that the Rams could never recover from.
