In a tightly contested battle, the Detroit Lions narrowly defeated the Miami Dolphins 14-10 in Week 9 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, both teams fought hard, but it was the Lions who emerged victorious in this defensive showdown. Jared Goff led the charge for Detroit, throwing for 268 yards and delivering crucial passes to keep drives alive, while Jahmyr Gibbs contributed significantly on the ground with 65 rushing yards. Tank Dell was the standout receiver, racking up 98 yards and proving to be Goff's go-to target, making key catches throughout the game. Malik Willis managed to throw one touchdown for the Dolphins, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. The Lions' defense played a pivotal role in the outcome, with Derrick Moore recording a sack and Chuck Clark grabbing an interception that shifted momentum in the second half. The turning point came late in the game when Clark's interception halted a promising Miami drive, allowing the Lions to maintain their slim lead down the stretch. With the defense holding strong, Detroit was able to run out the clock and secure a vital win.
