In a crucial Week 8 matchup, the Las Vegas Raiders topped the New York Jets with a final score of 31-20, solidifying their position in the playoff race. Both teams entered the game needing a win to maintain their momentum, but it was the Raiders who ultimately pulled ahead. Ashton Jeanty was the standout performer for the Raiders, rushing for an impressive 121 yards and contributing significantly to his team's offensive efforts. Quarterback Baker Mayfield of the Jets also had a strong showing, throwing for 197 yards and two touchdowns, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Raiders' balanced attack. Defensively, the Raiders managed to disrupt the Jets' rhythm, allowing their offense to build a comfortable lead. The turning point came when Las Vegas tightened its defense in the second half, stifling New York's attempts to mount a comeback despite standout performances from players like Jarvis Brownlee Jr., who recorded eight tackles, and Alim McNeill, who notched 2.5 sacks. With this victory, the Raiders continue to position themselves as serious contenders this season.
