In a commanding performance to kick off the 2026 season, the Los Angeles Chargers topped the Arizona Cardinals 24-6. With both teams looking to establish momentum early in the year, the Chargers made a strong statement with a comprehensive victory at home. Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert was unstoppable, racking up 201 passing yards and tossing three touchdown passes to showcase his elite playmaking ability. Ladd McConkey was his favorite target, leading the receiving corps with 76 yards, while Omarion Hampton contributed effectively on the ground with 61 rushing yards, giving the Chargers a balanced offensive attack throughout the game. Defensively, the Chargers made key plays to maintain control, highlighted by Elijah Molden's interception that shifted the momentum in their favor. Although the Cardinals' Chidobe Awuzie led the game with five tackles and Zaven Collins added a sack, it was the Chargers' ability to stifle the Cardinals' offense that proved decisive. The turning point came in the second quarter when Herbert's third touchdown pass extended the lead, ultimately sealing the victory for Los Angeles.
