In a tightly contested matchup, the Minnesota Vikings defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 21-13 in Week 3 of the 2026 season. This victory keeps the Vikings in the hunt for a strong playoff position, while the Buccaneers will need to regroup as they look to turn their season around. Baker Mayfield showcased his passing prowess for Tampa Bay, throwing for 148 yards and a touchdown, but it was Bucky Irving's ground game that carried much of the Buccaneers' offensive load with 98 rushing yards. On the other side, Justin Jefferson led the Vikings with 83 receiving yards, proving to be a key target in the passing game that kept Minnesota's offense moving. Defensively, the Buccaneers made their mark with Rueben Bain Jr. recording an impressive 2.5 sacks and Antoine Winfield Jr. snagging an interception. However, the turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Vikings' defense held strong, forcing the Buccaneers to settle for a field goal instead of a potential game-tying touchdown. That stand proved crucial, allowing Minnesota to maintain their lead and secure the win.
