In a thrilling Week 16 matchup, the New England Patriots narrowly defeated the New York Jets 20-17, solidifying their playoff positioning as the season nears its conclusion. With both teams vying for crucial playoff momentum, the stakes couldn't have been higher in this tightly contested battle. Drake Maye led the charge for the Patriots with a solid performance, throwing for 226 yards and contributing to the team's offensive rhythm. Hunter Henry was his go-to target, racking up 66 receiving yards. Meanwhile, the Jets' Geno Smith found the end zone once but struggled to keep pace with the Patriots’ balanced attack, making the most of his limited opportunities. Defensively, the Jets made their presence felt, with Minkah Fitzpatrick leading the way with seven total tackles and David Bailey contributing 1.5 sacks. However, it was a late defensive stand by the Patriots that proved pivotal, stifling the Jets' final drive and allowing New England to secure the win. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Patriots' defense forced a crucial turnover, setting up their game-winning drive and sealing the victory.
