In a decisive start to the 2027 season, the Chicago Bears topped the Washington Commanders with a final score of 19-7. Both teams looked to establish momentum early, but the Bears seized the opportunity to dominate on their home turf. Caleb Williams showcased his skills as he threw for 268 yards and a touchdown, leading the Bears' offensive charge. Colston Loveland was a standout receiver, racking up 101 yards, which helped set the tone for Chicago's passing game. Despite the Commanders' efforts, they struggled to match the Bears’ offensive execution. Defensively, the Bears held their ground effectively, but Washington’s Boubacar Traore emerged with 1.5 sacks, providing some pressure on Williams. The game's turning point came late in the second quarter when Chicago scored a pivotal touchdown, putting them up by two scores. From that moment, the Bears' defense tightened, ensuring the Commanders could not find a way back into the game.
