In a thrilling Week 1 matchup of the 2027 season, the Arizona Cardinals narrowly defeated the Carolina Panthers by a score of 24-21. Both teams came into the game looking to set the tone for the season, but it was the Cardinals who emerged victorious in a hard-fought battle. Leading the charge for Arizona was quarterback Darian Mensah, who threw for 248 yards and a touchdown, showcasing his ability to move the offense effectively. Tyler Allgeier made a significant impact on the ground, racking up 98 rushing yards while Parker Washington was a standout in the air with 110 receiving yards, proving to be a reliable target for Mensah throughout the game. Defensively, the Cardinals were anchored by Yasir Abdullah, who recorded nine total tackles, helping to stifle the Panthers' offensive efforts. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Arizona’s defense held strong, forcing a critical turnover that allowed them to maintain their lead and ultimately secure the win. The Panthers' Jaelan Phillips did his part, contributing 1.5 sacks, but it wasn't enough to change the outcome as Arizona celebrated a successful start to their season.
