The New England Patriots narrowly defeated the Houston Texans 10-6 in a tightly contested Week 2 matchup of the 2027 season. Both teams struggled offensively, with the game featuring critical moments that kept fans on the edge of their seats, but ultimately, the Patriots secured the win to improve their record early in the season. Quarterback Drake Maye led the way for New England, throwing for 136 yards and a crucial touchdown that proved to be the difference in the game. The Patriots' offense was complemented by Dallas Goedert, who contributed 46 receiving yards, while the Texans leaned heavily on Kewan Lacy, who rushed for an impressive 116 yards but was unable to find the end zone. Defensively, the Patriots made key plays that stifled the Texans' scoring opportunities, with Carlton Davis III leading the team with four total tackles. Harold Landry III also stood out, notching a sack that helped shift momentum toward New England. The Texans' Kamari Lassiter, however, intercepted two passes, showcasing his skill in the secondary, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Patriots' solid defensive effort and clutch offensive execution when it mattered most.
