The Atlanta Falcons narrowly defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 17-14 in a tightly contested Week 3 matchup of the 2027 season. With both teams looking to gain momentum early in the season, the stakes were high, and the Falcons managed to secure a crucial road victory. John Mateer led the Falcons' offense with an impressive 244 passing yards, showcasing his ability to move the ball effectively down the field. The Jaguars found some success through the air as well, with Trevor Lawrence throwing for a touchdown, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Falcons' scoring efforts. Bhayshul Tuten shone on the ground for Jacksonville, racking up 83 rushing yards, while Brenton Strange provided a reliable target with 58 receiving yards. Defensively, Divine Deablo stood out for Atlanta, recording 10 total tackles to help stifle the Jaguars' offensive drives. The crucial turning point came when Jessie Bates III intercepted a pass, giving the Falcons the momentum they needed to hold off a late rally from Jacksonville. Despite a strong effort from Travon Walker, who notched two sacks for the Jaguars, Atlanta's defense proved to be the difference-maker in securing the victory.
