In a hard-fought battle in Week 8 of the 2026 season, the Las Vegas Raiders topped the New York Jets with a final score of 20-12. With both teams vying for playoff positioning, the Raiders' victory solidifies their standing as serious contenders in the league. Raiders quarterback Fernando Mendoza was the standout on offense, throwing for 262 yards and one touchdown, while Dont'e Thornton Jr. shined as his top receiving target, racking up 100 yards through the air. Despite a solid performance from Jets running back Braelon Allen, who led his team with 62 rushing yards, it wasn't enough to keep pace with the Raiders' offensive efficiency. Defensively, the Raiders controlled the game with a strong performance, highlighted by Darien Porter’s nine total tackles and Quay Walker's impressive 1.5 sacks. The turning point came in the second half when the Raiders' defense forced a crucial turnover, giving Mendoza and the offense the opportunity to extend their lead, ultimately sealing the victory and showcasing their ability to perform under pressure.
