In a decisive Week 2 matchup of the 2026 season, the Washington Commanders topped the Dallas Cowboys with a final score of 38-21. This victory not only showcases Washington's offensive prowess but also sets the tone for a competitive season ahead as both teams vie for playoff positioning early on. Leading the charge for the Commanders was quarterback Jayden Daniels, who threw for 263 yards and connected on key plays to Stefon Diggs, who racked up an impressive 148 receiving yards. On the ground, Jacory Croskey-Merritt contributed 72 rushing yards, adding another dimension to Washington’s balanced attack and keeping the Cowboys' defense on its heels throughout the game. Defensively, the Commanders made their mark with Frankie Luvu, who recorded a crucial sack that shifted momentum in favor of Washington. While the Cowboys' Malik Hooker led the game with nine total tackles, it wasn’t enough to contain the Commanders' offensive barrage. The turning point came in the second quarter when Washington scored back-to-back touchdowns, creating a lead that proved insurmountable for Dallas as they struggled to respond effectively.
