In a dominant season opener, the New Orleans Saints defeated the Detroit Lions 38-6, showcasing their offensive firepower while asserting their presence in Week 1 of the 2026 season. With both teams looking to start strong, the Saints made a statement with their commanding performance. Quarterback Tyler Shough led the charge for New Orleans, throwing for an impressive 372 yards and two touchdowns, while receiver Jordyn Tyson shone brightly with 205 receiving yards, making multiple big plays that kept the Lions' defense on their heels. Travis Etienne Jr. contributed effectively on the ground, adding 75 rushing yards to the Saints' offensive onslaught.
