In a tightly contested matchup, the Jacksonville Jaguars narrowly defeated the Washington Commanders by a score of 16-12 in Week 17 of the 2026 season. With playoff aspirations on the line, both teams fought hard, but it was the Jaguars who ultimately secured the victory, keeping their postseason hopes alive. Washington's Bo Nix stood out on offense, throwing for 268 yards and two touchdowns, while Rachaad White was a dual threat, leading the team in both rushing with 54 yards and receiving with 92 yards. The Commanders showed promise in their passing game, but it was not enough to overcome the Jaguars' defense in critical moments. Defensively, the Jaguars made key plays that shifted momentum, highlighted by Carlton Davis III's two interceptions, which proved pivotal in keeping Washington's offense at bay. Sai'vion Jones added a sack, further disrupting Nix's rhythm. The turning point came late in the game when Davis's second interception halted a promising drive, allowing Jacksonville to maintain their slim lead and ultimately secure the win.
