In a hard-fought battle to kick off the 2027 season, the Arizona Cardinals narrowly defeated the Los Angeles Rams 14-7. Both teams were eager to start the year on a high note, but it was the Cardinals who managed to secure the crucial victory in front of their home crowd. Jeremy Dixon was a standout for Arizona, rushing for 91 yards, effectively leading the ground game and providing the offense with much-needed balance. Meanwhile, Trey Lance of the Rams threw for 166 yards, with Tyreek Hill emerging as his favorite target, racking up 104 receiving yards. However, the Rams struggled to find the end zone, ultimately falling short. Defensively, the Cardinals made significant plays, highlighted by Trent McDuffie's two interceptions that shifted the momentum in their favor. Jalon Walker of the Rams did his part with 1.5 sacks, but it was Arizona's ability to capitalize on turnovers that proved pivotal. The turning point came in the second half when McDuffie picked off Lance for the second time, setting up a touchdown that put Arizona ahead for good.
