In a hard-fought battle to kick off the 2027 season, the New England Patriots narrowly defeated the Dallas Cowboys 21-14. Both teams entered the game looking to set the tone for the year, but it was the Patriots who emerged victorious in this Week 1 showdown. Brock Purdy was the offensive star for New England, throwing three touchdown passes to propel his team to victory. Javonte Williams also made a significant impact on the ground with 70 rushing yards, helping to maintain balance in the Patriots' attack. On the other side, Anthony Richardson Sr. kept the Cowboys competitive with 232 passing yards, while Rashod Bateman racked up 109 receiving yards, showcasing his big-play ability. Defensively, Colton Hood's interception proved to be a crucial moment in the game, thwarting a potential scoring drive for the Cowboys. The New England defense managed to contain Dallas's offense just enough, limiting their opportunities and capitalizing on key mistakes. With the game on the line, the Patriots' defense stepped up, sealing the victory and starting the season on a high note.
