In a tightly contested matchup, the Dallas Cowboys narrowly defeated the Indianapolis Colts with a final score of 20-14, improving their record as they battle for playoff positioning in Week 9 of the 2026 season. The Colts fought hard but couldn't quite close the gap, leaving them with a tough loss at home. Patrick Mahomes led the Colts with an impressive 252 passing yards and two touchdown passes, showcasing his elite arm talent. However, the day belonged to the Cowboys' ground game, where Cam Skattebo carried the ball for 86 yards, providing a crucial balance to the Dallas offense. The Cowboys' ability to control the clock with their rushing attack proved vital in securing the win. Defensively, the Cowboys made significant contributions, with Jake Golday recording six total tackles and Clelin Ferrell notching two sacks to disrupt the Colts' rhythm. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Sauce Gardner intercepted a desperate Mahomes throw, sealing the victory for Dallas and thwarting any hopes of a last-minute comeback from Indianapolis.
