In a tightly contested battle in Week 7 of the 2026 season, the New York Jets held off the Miami Dolphins with a final score of 22-16. This victory keeps the Jets in the thick of the playoff race, while the Dolphins will need to regroup after a disappointing performance. Tyler Shough shined for the Jets, throwing for two touchdowns and helping his team secure crucial points when they needed them most. Lamar Jackson of the Dolphins led all passers with 233 yards but was unable to convert that yardage into enough points to swing the game in Miami's favor. Meanwhile, David Montgomery provided a solid ground game for New York, adding 58 rushing yards to complement the passing attack. Defensively, the Jets were anchored by Quay Walker, who recorded eight total tackles, making key stops throughout the contest. Chris Jones also made his presence felt with a sack that disrupted Miami's offensive rhythm at pivotal moments. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Jets' defense held strong, forcing a turnover on downs that allowed them to run out the clock and secure the victory.
