In a commanding season opener, the Away team topped the Home team with a final score of 38-21. This victory sets the tone for the Away's ambitions in the 2026 season, showcasing their offensive firepower right out of the gate. Cole Payton was the standout performer, throwing for an impressive 222 yards and five touchdowns, leading his team’s offensive onslaught. RJ Harvey complemented the passing attack with a powerful ground game, rushing for 129 yards, while Justin Jefferson was a favorite target, racking up 162 receiving yards. Their combined efforts fueled a potent offensive performance that the Home defense struggled to contain. The Away defense also played a crucial role in the outcome, with Terrel Bernard making a significant impact by snagging two interceptions that shifted momentum in favor of his team. While the Home's Riq Woolen recorded four tackles and Mason Graham contributed a sack, they were unable to stop the Away's scoring spree. The game's turning point came with Bernard's second interception, which halted a promising Home drive and allowed the Away to extend their lead, ultimately sealing the victory.
