In a thrilling Wildcard Round showdown, the Detroit Lions narrowly defeated the Los Angeles Rams with a final score of 24-21. With both teams vying for a spot in the next round, the stakes were high, and the Lions proved they could handle the pressure on their home turf. Trey Lance of the Rams showcased his impressive arm, throwing for 271 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Los Angeles offense. However, it was Bhayshul Tuten who stole the show for Detroit, rushing for an astonishing 267 yards, consistently breaking tackles and keeping the chains moving. Meanwhile, Darius Slayton contributed significantly in the passing game, racking up 78 receiving yards to support Lance's efforts. Defensively, the Lions made crucial stops, particularly from Christian Benford, who recorded four total tackles, helping to stifle the Rams' momentum. The turning point of the game came late in the fourth quarter when the Lions' defense held strong, forcing a turnover on downs that allowed them to maintain their slim lead. Despite a strong performance from the Rams, including a sack from Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah and an interception by Quinyon Mitchell, it wasn't enough to overcome the relentless ground game of Tuten and the Lions' gritty defense.
