In a hard-fought Divisional Round matchup, the Detroit Lions defeated the Carolina Panthers 14-7, securing their spot in the next phase of the playoffs. The stakes were high as both teams aimed for a chance at the championship, but it was the Lions who ultimately prevailed on their home turf. Matthew Stafford led the Lions' offense with 166 passing yards, while Bhayshul Tuten dominated on the ground, racking up 132 rushing yards and finding the end zone once. Jordan Love managed to keep Carolina competitive with his lone touchdown pass, but the Panthers struggled to find consistency against a strong Lions defense. Defensively, the Lions stepped up when it mattered most, with Jarrian Jones leading the way with three total tackles. The game’s turning point came in the second half when the Lions’ defense stifled a crucial Panthers drive, allowing them to hold onto their slim lead. Though Cedric Gray of the Panthers recorded two interceptions, it wasn't enough to shift the momentum back in Carolina's favor.
