In a tightly contested matchup, the Detroit Lions held off the Carolina Panthers with a final score of 23-17, securing their second win of the season in Week 4. Both teams fought hard, but the Lions' ability to capitalize on key plays proved decisive as they moved to 2-2 while the Panthers fell to 1-3. Jalen Milroe was the standout for Detroit, throwing for three touchdown passes that propelled his team to victory. Meanwhile, Sam Darnold showcased his skills with 278 passing yards for Carolina, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Lions. On the ground, Travis Etienne Jr. led the Panthers with 82 rushing yards, but his efforts were overshadowed by the Lions’ aerial attack. Defensively, Nate Wiggins of the Lions was a force, racking up nine total tackles, which helped stifle the Panthers' offensive momentum. Khalil Mack did his part for Carolina, recording two sacks, but Detroit's timely interceptions and pressure in the second half were critical in sealing the game. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Lions intercepted Darnold, allowing them to maintain the lead and secure the win.
