In a thrilling season opener, the Green Bay Packers defeated the Minnesota Vikings 31-22, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting 2026 campaign. Both teams entered the matchup looking to make a statement, but it was the Packers who came out on top, showcasing their offensive prowess and defensive resilience. Jalen Hurts led the charge for Green Bay, throwing for three touchdowns and solidifying his role as a key playmaker. Minnesota's Caleb Williams put up impressive numbers, throwing for 235 yards and adding 54 rushing yards, but it was not enough to overcome the Packers' balanced attack. Cooper Kupp also made a significant impact for the Vikings, racking up 88 receiving yards, but the Green Bay offense consistently found ways to score. Defensively, the Packers made crucial plays that swung the momentum in their favor. Montez Sweat recorded two sacks, putting pressure on Williams and disrupting the Vikings' rhythm, while Travis Hunter's two interceptions proved pivotal in stifling Minnesota's scoring opportunities. With Jaquan Brisker leading the charge with four total tackles, Green Bay's defense stepped up when it mattered most, helping to secure the victory on the road.
