In an exciting Week 1 matchup of the 2026 season, the Atlanta Falcons topped the Pittsburgh Steelers with a final score of 30-17. The victory sets a promising tone for Atlanta as they look to build momentum early in the season, while the Steelers will need to regroup after a disappointing start at home. Falcons quarterback Trevor Lawrence was instrumental in the win, tossing two touchdown passes to lead the offense. Meanwhile, Christian McCaffrey showcased his elite running skills, racking up 147 rushing yards and consistently moving the chains. On the other side, Pittsburgh's Fernando Mendoza struggled to find his rhythm, finishing with 158 passing yards, while Ja'Marr Chase led the receiving corps with 84 yards. Defensively, the Falcons made crucial plays to stifle the Steelers' offense, highlighted by Alex Anzalone's interception that shifted the game's momentum. Grover Stewart led the Falcons with three total tackles, reinforcing a strong defensive effort that kept Pittsburgh at bay. The turning point came when Atlanta capitalized on that interception, turning it into a touchdown that ultimately sealed the game.
