In a crucial Week 12 matchup, the Carolina Panthers defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 34-24, solidifying their playoff aspirations as the regular season draws to a close. The victory was pivotal for the Panthers, who aimed to maintain their momentum heading into the final stretch of the season. Bryce Young led the charge for Carolina, throwing for three touchdowns and showcasing his poise under pressure. Meanwhile, Jonathon Brooks had a standout performance on the ground, racking up 119 rushing yards, providing the Panthers with a balanced offensive attack. Although Baker Mayfield topped the passing yards for Tampa Bay with 290 yards, it wasn't enough to overcome the Panthers' offensive firepower. The Panthers' defense played a critical role in the outcome, with Bobby Okereke leading the team with five total tackles, helping to contain the Buccaneers' scoring opportunities. The game's turning point came late in the second half when a crucial interception by Yaya Diaby was nullified by a penalty, allowing Carolina to maintain their lead and control the tempo. The Buccaneers struggled to capitalize on defensive stops, ultimately falling short as the Panthers held off their late-game surge.
