The New York Jets dominated the Detroit Lions with a commanding final score of 70-30, solidifying their place early in the 2026 season. This Week 3 matchup was pivotal for both teams, but the Jets proved too formidable, showcasing their offensive prowess and defensive strength. Joe Milton had an outstanding performance, throwing for 428 yards and six touchdowns, while Garrett Wilson was a prime target, racking up 141 receiving yards. The Jets' offensive execution was relentless, leaving the Lions struggling to keep pace throughout the game. Jahmyr Gibbs of the Lions made a notable effort with 136 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to match the Jets’ explosive attack. Defensively, the Jets were equally impressive, highlighted by VJ Payne's eight total tackles and Darrell Jackson Jr.'s two sacks. Jarvis Brownlee Jr. sealed the deal with two crucial interceptions, one of which shifted momentum early in the second half, allowing the Jets to extend their lead. The combination of a potent offense and a stifling defense was too much for the Lions to handle, leading to a decisive victory for New York.
