In a crucial Week 12 matchup, the Detroit Lions topped the Chicago Bears 35-20, solidifying their playoff positioning as the season heads into its final stretch. The victory marked an important step for the Lions, who have consistently battled for a top spot in the division. Offensively, Jahmyr Gibbs was a standout for Detroit, racking up an impressive 138 rushing yards, helping to control the tempo of the game. Caleb Williams of the Bears showcased his talent as well, throwing for 295 yards and three touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Lions’ offensive firepower. D'Andre Swift added to the Bears' struggles, amassing 105 receiving yards but found the end zone elusive. Defensively, the Lions made critical plays when it mattered most, with Christian Izien leading the charge with nine total tackles. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Aidan Hutchinson registered a key sack, disrupting the Bears' momentum and allowing the Lions to capitalize on the ensuing possession with a touchdown that swung the game's momentum firmly in their favor. The combination of a robust rush defense and timely tackles kept the Bears at bay and secured Detroit's victory.
