In a dominating performance, the Washington Commanders shut out the Dallas Cowboys with a final score of 28-0 in Week 2 of the 2026 season. This victory not only boosts Washington's record but also sends a clear message to the rest of the league about their defensive prowess and offensive capabilities. Jayden Daniels led the charge for the Commanders, rushing for an impressive 100 yards and contributing significantly to their offensive success. While Dak Prescott struggled to find his rhythm, managing only 69 passing yards, it was the Commanders' balanced attack that kept the pressure on the Cowboys throughout the game. George Pickens was the standout receiver for Dallas, but his 44 yards weren't enough to spark any momentum. The Commanders' defense was a force to be reckoned with, highlighted by Nick Cross's three interceptions that halted any chance of a Cowboys comeback. Sonny Styles added to the defensive showcase with a sack, making it a challenging outing for Dallas' offense. The turning point came early in the second half when Cross intercepted Prescott, setting up a touchdown that put the game out of reach for the Cowboys.
