The Chicago Bears kicked off the 2026 season with a solid 29-17 victory over the Carolina Panthers, showcasing their strength in both offense and defense. With Week 1's outcome on the line, the Bears demonstrated their playoff aspirations early on, while the Panthers look to regroup and find their rhythm as the season unfolds. Caleb Williams led the charge for Chicago, throwing for 275 yards and connecting with standout receiver Colston Loveland, who racked up an impressive 145 receiving yards. D'Andre Swift also contributed significantly on the ground, adding 71 rushing yards to the Bears' balanced attack. Meanwhile, Bryce Young put up a valiant effort for Carolina, tossing two touchdown passes but ultimately fell short of leading his team to victory. Defensively, the Bears were formidable, with Montez Sweat dominating the pass rush and recording 2.5 sacks. Jaylon Johnson anchored the secondary with five total tackles, ensuring that Carolina's offense struggled to find consistency. The game turned when the Bears' defense stifled a potential comeback drive in the fourth quarter, forcing a turnover on downs that allowed Chicago to maintain control and secure the win.
