In a commanding season opener, the Dallas Cowboys topped the New York Giants 38-21, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting 2026 campaign. With both teams eager to make a statement, the Cowboys showcased their offensive prowess and defensive strength, solidifying their position early in the season. Dak Prescott was the star of the show for Dallas, throwing for 265 yards and four touchdown passes, effectively leading his team’s high-octane offense. Meanwhile, the Giants’ Cam Skattebo put forth a solid effort on the ground with 80 rushing yards, and Darnell Mooney shined in the air, racking up an impressive 137 receiving yards, though their efforts ultimately fell short. Defensively, the Cowboys made crucial plays to bolster their victory, with Quinnen Williams recording two sacks that disrupted the Giants' rhythm. The turning point came in the second quarter when DaRon Bland picked off a pass, shifting momentum back to Dallas and allowing them to extend their lead. The combination of timely defense and explosive offense proved too much for New York to handle.
