In a hard-fought season opener, the Los Angeles Rams topped the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 14-7. This Week 1 matchup set the tone for both teams as they look to establish dominance in the NFC West. The Rams' victory not only secures an early win but also boosts their confidence heading into the rest of the season. Matthew Stafford was the standout performer for the Rams, throwing for two touchdown passes that helped secure the win. Brock Purdy led the 49ers in passing yards with 202, showcasing his ability to move the ball but ultimately falling short in the scoring department. Meanwhile, George Kittle emerged as a key target for San Francisco, racking up an impressive 142 receiving yards. Defensively, Myles Garrett was a force for the Rams, recording six total tackles and a sack that disrupted the 49ers' offensive rhythm. Quentin Lake's interception proved pivotal, halting a potential scoring drive and shifting momentum back to the Rams. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Stafford connected with his receiver for a touchdown, giving Los Angeles the lead they would not relinquish.
