The Minnesota Vikings secured a decisive 40-24 victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 7 of the 2026 season, further solidifying their playoff ambitions. With both teams battling for positioning, the Vikings showcased their offensive prowess, pulling away in the second half to clinch the win. Sam Darnold was the standout performer for Minnesota, throwing for four touchdowns and leading the charge against the Colts' defense. Aaron Jones Sr. contributed significantly on the ground, amassing 70 rushing yards, while Colts receiver Alec Pierce shone with 135 receiving yards, providing a bright spot in a tough loss. Daniel Jones also put up solid numbers for Indianapolis, with 289 passing yards, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with the Vikings. Defensively, the Vikings made crucial stops, highlighted by Von Miller's 1.5 sacks, which disrupted the Colts' rhythm throughout the game. The turning point came in the third quarter when Minnesota scored back-to-back touchdowns, stretching their lead and putting the Colts in a position where they had to abandon the run, allowing Minnesota to control the tempo. Ultimately, it was a well-rounded effort from the Vikings that propelled them to a comfortable victory.
