The Chicago Bears opened their 2026 season with a solid victory, defeating the Carolina Panthers 24-10. This matchup was crucial for both teams as they aimed to set the tone for the weeks ahead, but it was the Bears who asserted their dominance early on. Caleb Williams led the Bears' offense, throwing for 173 yards and a touchdown, showcasing his ability to manage the game effectively. Luther Burden III emerged as his primary target, racking up 71 receiving yards and proving to be a reliable option in critical moments. Meanwhile, Chuba Hubbard of the Panthers managed to lead his team in rushing with 50 yards, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with Chicago’s offensive firepower. Defensively, the Bears made their mark with a key interception from Malik Muhammad II, which shifted momentum in their favor. The Panthers struggled to find their rhythm, hampered by strong defensive pressure from Chicago. The turning point came late in the second quarter when the Bears capitalized on a turnover, ultimately sealing the game and sending a message that they are ready to compete this season.
