In a compelling season opener, the Cincinnati Bengals topped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-17, marking a strong start to the 2026 campaign. The victory sets the tone for Cincinnati as they aim for a deep playoff run while the Buccaneers look to regroup after a tough loss. Joe Burrow was the star of the show for Cincinnati, throwing for 322 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his elite quarterback skills. He connected brilliantly with Ja'Marr Chase, who racked up 160 receiving yards, consistently finding ways to break free from defenders. Meanwhile, Bucky Irving led the Buccaneers in rushing with a modest 39 yards, but it was clear the ground game struggled to keep pace with Cincinnati’s aerial attack. Defensively, the Bengals made a significant impact, with Dax Hill leading the way with seven total tackles and Boye Mafe recording an impressive 2.5 sacks. The turning point came in the second half when Cincinnati's defense stifled a potential Buccaneers drive, forcing a critical turnover and allowing Burrow to extend the lead further. With this commanding performance, the Bengals proved they are a force to be reckoned with this season.
