In a high-octane matchup, the Kansas City Chiefs dominated the Los Angeles Chargers with a resounding 64-27 victory in Week 2 of the 2027 season. The win keeps the Chiefs firmly in contention early this season, showcasing their offensive firepower against a divisional rival. Patrick Mahomes was nothing short of spectacular, throwing for six touchdown passes and leading the Chiefs' offensive onslaught. Xavier Worthy was his favorite target, racking up 160 receiving yards and scoring multiple times, while Justin Herbert of the Chargers put up impressive numbers with 432 passing yards, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with Kansas City’s relentless scoring. Defensively, the Chiefs made critical plays that shifted momentum, highlighted by JT Woods' two interceptions, which contributed to the Chargers' struggles. Jermod McCoy's six tackles helped stifle the Chargers' running game, while Josh Hines-Allen’s three sacks showed that the Chiefs' defense was not to be overlooked. The turning point came early in the second quarter when Mahomes connected with Worthy for a touchdown that extended the lead to 21-7, setting the tone for the rest of the game.
