In a thrilling season opener, the Away team topped the Home team 19-14, kicking off the 2026 season with a dramatic victory. Both squads were eager to set the tone for the year, but it was Away who managed to secure the win in a tightly contested battle. Tyler Shough shone for Away, throwing for a remarkable 311 yards, showcasing his arm strength and precision throughout the game. While Jared Goff of Home threw two touchdown passes, it was not enough to overcome the offensive momentum created by Shough. Travis Etienne Jr. added solid ground support with 59 rushing yards, complementing the air attack effectively. Defensively, D.J. Reed led the Home team with six total tackles, but it was Cameron Jordan's lone sack that proved crucial in disrupting Home's rhythm. The game's turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Jordan's pressure on Goff led to a critical turnover, allowing Away to clinch the victory and set an early tone for the season.
