In a commanding season opener, the Home team topped the Away squad with a decisive 33-13 victory. This win sets a strong tone for the 2026 season as both teams look to establish their identities early on. Sam Darnold led the charge for Home, throwing for 215 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to connect effectively with his receivers. Justin Jefferson was a standout target, racking up 117 receiving yards, while Zach Charbonnet added a solid ground game with 68 rushing yards. Their offensive synergy proved too much for the Away defense to handle. Defensively, Home's DeMarcus Lawrence was a force, recording 1.5 sacks that disrupted any momentum the Away team tried to build. The turning point of the game came early in the second half when Lawrence's pressure led to a critical turnover, shifting the momentum firmly in Home's favor. With Robert Spillane leading the way for Away with nine total tackles, the effort fell short against Home's relentless attack.
