In a tightly contested Divisional Round matchup, the Houston Texans defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 20-10, securing their place in the playoffs as they continue their quest for the championship. The stakes were high, with both teams vying for a shot at the title, but it was Houston that emerged victorious, showcasing their resilience on the road. Offensively, David Montgomery was the star for the Texans, racking up 109 rushing yards and providing the ground game necessary to control the clock and the tempo of the game. On the other side, Joe Burrow put up impressive numbers with 305 passing yards and a touchdown, but it wasn’t enough to propel the Bengals past Houston's strong defense. Tee Higgins also had a notable performance with 104 receiving yards, but the Bengals struggled to convert drives into points. Defensively, the Texans were led by Reed Blankenship, who tallied seven total tackles, helping to stifle the Bengals' offensive efforts throughout the game. The turning point came late in the third quarter when Houston's defense held strong, forcing a crucial turnover that shifted momentum. Despite Burrow's solid performance, the Texans' ability to limit big plays and clamp down when it mattered most ultimately sealed the victory and their advancement in the playoffs.
