In an impressive Week 1 performance, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers took down the Chicago Bears with a final score of 27-7. The victory sets a strong tone for the Buccaneers as they kick off the 2027 season, showcasing their offensive prowess and defensive resilience against a struggling Bears squad. Leading the charge for Tampa Bay was quarterback Baker Mayfield, who threw for 233 yards and four touchdowns, effectively spreading the ball around with precision. Ted Hurst III emerged as his go-to target, racking up 120 receiving yards and demonstrating a strong connection with Mayfield throughout the game. On the ground, D'Andre Swift struggled to find his rhythm, managing only 26 rushing yards for the Bears. Defensively, the Buccaneers were impactful, with Alex Anzalone making a crucial interception that shifted the momentum in Tampa's favor. The Bears' offense was stifled, unable to respond effectively to the pressure applied by the Buccaneers' defense. Devin Bush added to the Bears' woes with a sack, but ultimately, it was the Buccaneers' ability to capitalize on turnovers and contain the Bears that solidified their commanding victory.
